BetRivers Online Sportsbook Launches To PA Sportsbettors

BetRivers Sportsbook Launches

The Rivers Casino Online Sportsbook is officially live, becoming the third sportsbook to go online. The mobile sportsbook can be found under the brand name BetRivers.

The online sportsbook began testing on Tuesday and officially launched later in the week.

The sportsbook joins online sportsbooks from SugarHouse Casino and Parx Casino. BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, are the two online sportsbetting brands operating under Rush Street Gaming.

Earlier this month, the SugarHouse Casino revealed a name change to Rivers Casino Philadelphia, the same name of sister casino Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Although there is no official news on whether the PlaySugarHOuse brand will continue to be here for the long haufl, the rebranding of SugarHouse could mean an eventual refocus on the BetRivers brand.

At launch, BetRivers is available through either a web-based sportsbook or through an Android-focused app that can be downloaded directly form the BetRivers Casino website. The BetRivers app is not available in the Google Play Store or the Apple iOS Store due to restrictions on real money gambling apps.

Mobile sports betting has high expectations in Pennsylvania. Neighboring New Jersey, which has both land-based and mobile sportsbetting, has seen a large percentage of overall revenue come from online sportsbetting, with some sportsbooks reporting around 70% of overall revenue coming from online. The Rivers Casino sportsbook has been generating about $9 million a month in revenue.

Mobile sportsbetting is growing very rapidly due to convenience for sports bettors. Instead of going driving to a land-based casino, sports bettors are able to place bts from anywhere in the state.

Although over around a dozen PA land-based sportsbooks have launched in the state thus far, PA casinos are eager to get mobile sports betting live in the state before the start of the NFL season, where Pennsylvanians will be able to bet on the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers games every week.

With the NFL season a little more than a couple months away, the BetRivers launch this week means that Pennsylvanians will have at least three options by the ball, with even more likely coming by September. And that has PA sports fans more excited than ever.
