No Jackpot, But Big Powerball And Mega Millions Wins In PA As MegaMillions Hit; Powerball Swells to $750 Million

Poweball Grows October 27th, 2018

The last couple weeks have been great for the lottery world as jackpots for the Mega Millions and Powerball have soared to record heights.

On Tuesday, MegaMillions reached a record $1.6 billion jackpot with a winning ticket sold in South Carolina. On Wednesday, a draw was held for the Powerball with an estimated jackpot of a measly $600 million. Good news: you weren’t the only ones who lost. The Powerball jackpot was not hit, meaning the Powerball will now increase to an estimated $750 million for the drawing on Saturday.

Despite the lack of a jackpot hit in Pennsylvania, there were still some lower-tier prizes awarded to lottery players in the state. These aren’t the headline-grabbing prizes of the jackpot, but the recipients of the prizes will undoubtedly welcome their fortune.

Mega Millions prizes won in PA

What’s the next best thing to a $1.6 billion prize in the Mega Millions? A $1 million prize has been won by a player purchasing a ticket at a Delaware County Wawa convenience store. The winning ticket matched all five of the yellow balls (05-28-62-65-70) but failed to hit the yellow ball (05).

In addition to the $1 million prize, another 689,000 tickets in Pennsylvania won prizes starting at $2.

The next drawing for the Mega Millions will be held this Friday with a much smaller estimated prize of $40 million. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday with results available on the Pennsylvania Lottery website and mobile app.

Powerball prizes won in PA

The Powerball drawing on Wednesday produced no jackpot winners with its 03-21-45-53-56 and Powerball 22 combination. In fact, in Pennsylvania, no $1 million prizes were awarded for hitting five white balls.

Five tickets were purchased for the next prize tier, however, which awards $50,000 for hitting four white numbers and a Powerball. Winning tickets were purchased in Quakertown, Coopersburg, Etters, Crabtree and Pittsburgh. A total of 259,000 winning tickets were purchased in PA with prizes starting at $4.

Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM ET, so PA lottery players will have to wait until this Saturday for their next chance at a nine-figure prize. Results for the Mega Millions and Powerball are available in the PA Lottery website or app.
