Parx Casino Sportsbook Set To Open Tuesday

Parx Casino Sportsbook

The forth PA sportsbook is set to go live next week when the Parx Casino Sportsbook begins a testing period on Tuesday. The launch of the sportsbook would mark the second to be available to bettors in and around Philadelphia.

The Parx Casino, which is Pennsylvania’s largest casino, makes its home in Bensalem, located in the northeastern Philadelphia suburbs.

Where to bet at the Parx Casino

When the Parx Casino begins taking bets on Tuesday, it will be under a testing period required by Pennsylvania law. The testing period will begin at 2 PM local time on Tuesday and Wednesday. If all goes well, an official launch of the Parx Sportsbook will be at 1 PM on Thursday.

The location of the Parx Casino Sportsbook on Tuesday won’t be the final location. The casino will take bets on a temporary basis from the former location of the 360 bar and lounge and will feature seven betting windows. Wagers can also be placed at 26 self-service kiosks in and around the Parx Casino floor. A permnament location is expected to open sometime by the end of 2019.

The Parx Casino has also been authorized to open up a sportsbook in the Philly Turf Club, located just northeast of Philadelphia’s sports facilities; however, that location will not be a part of next week’s launch. Parent company Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment says the Philly Turf Club location “should be up and running soon.” Both Parx sportsbooks will be operated by Kambi, which also runs the sportsbook in the SugarHouse casino.

…and then there were four…

The opening of the Parx Casino Sportsbook would be the state’s forth with land-based sportsbooks in the following locations as of early January.

Even with four sportsbooks live in Pennsylvania, 2019 is setting up to be a big year for further expansion. Harrah’s Philadelphia, Valley Forge, Presque Isle and Mount Airy are all expected to launch sportsbooks this year.

As sportsbooks begin launching in the state, online sportsbooks will likely soon follow, which will open up wagering to the entire state.
