PokerStars PASCOOP Set To Begin April 4th

PokerStars PASCOOP 2020

While poker players in Pennsylvania currently can’t play at PA casinos due to the coronavirus pandemic, they can still play on PokerStars, currently the only online poker room in the state.

And online poker is booming on PokerStars with nearly 1200 players playing the games during peak time on Tuesday. In an acknowledgement that players are coming to the online poker room in large numbers, PokerStars PA has revealed that they will be moving up the date of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) in Pennsylvania to April 4th.

Early PASCOOP details

Although a staple at for many years, the PASCOOP is making its debut in Pennsylvania early next month. PokerStars went live in November and held the first-ever PACOOP in December.

The Spring version of the online championship is set to get underway on April 4th, will likely run for around two weeks and is expected to guarantee $2 million in prize pools. This guarantee is twice the size of the PACOOP prize pool held last year. The COOP event held in PA offered 50 unique events, which means this April’s PASCOOP could be in the 70 event range.

The tournament series will be exclusively available to Pennsylvania players as the online poker room remains segregated from the main player pool as well as the Poker Stars New Jersey player pool.

Not quite the largest tournament series ever in the US

With a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, the tournament series will mark the largest online tournament series in Pennsylvania since they launched last year. It will fall short of the largest online tournament series in a regulated market in the US.

That honor goes to the $3.5 Online Championship Series which was held during the World Series of Poker and generated $3.5 million in guaranteed prizes.
